Sandy is our retriver. Known also as blond-dog, or as scooter by my sister, and as Scary Monster by me. Sandy at times reminds us more of a squirrel, a badger, or an otter than a dog.
Sandy was adopted by the Cohen's when in August, 2001. She is a retired breeding dog, and was (if I recall correctly) about 7 years old when we adopted her.
Because she spent most of her life in a kennel, Sandy is very timid when it comes to people things. Even the people she knows and loves can become scary monsters if she doesn't expect us, although when she realizes it's us, she will be quite happy to see us. She is more outgoing when the other dogs are around. She seems to know how to behave around new things by learning from the other dogs.
She has a smile like my grandmother (yes, I am comparing the dog to a human. Deal with it) used to have, in which her entire face lights up when she smiles.
Sandy's favourite hobbies include: sleeping under the computer table, sleeping on the bed, sticking her nose in people's faces when she has toys in her mouth, eating tea towels, and being chewed to bits by Jasper.
